We're out there for you. We want to share this information. I was just telling our producer that I had like four consultations today.

1:36 This is like the fifth. I'm kind of mentally drained. So the more that you share this, the more it gets information out to the masses. I don't mind doing it one on one, but it is taxing sometimes and I want to have a little bit different kind of conversation with you tonight. I've done some of the homework for our list listeners because I always like to see what's going on in the realm of education and enlightenment as far as our animal health is concerned, very very important to me in my mission, which has been going on for a long long time, fifty five plus years, and I want to dig deep into the issue of feeding our animals and keeping them healthy. I know we would touched on this on every show, but I want to really have a serious conversation. You know, I would invite any kind of questions you might have along the way. But I've done quite a bit of research. And as probably most of you are well aware, if you're watching this podcast, you probably watch many other podcasts as well.

3:00 You probably have seen the proliferation of so called celebrity vets, especially in the so called arena of alternative health or holistic health and that whole gendre I have been watching a lot of them, watching what they say, watching the way they do it, and I have to say, first off, thank you for spreading the word, but I think you need to do a little bit more homework. You have kind of have to step away even farther from your allopathic roots. I realized that it was a training you had and you spend a lot of dollars on it. If you're a veterinarian, you have to maintain certain standards in standard of care in order to keep your license.

3:55 You don't want to lose that. But we also have to realize that maybe the what we're being taught out there by some of these alternative doctors, if you will, is not actually in the shall I say, the complete realm. They seem to have a tendency to pick, you know, key items, key uh fads, if you will, and focus on them specific recipes a specific solutions for generalized type problems. And actually it's just just the opposite.

4:41 There is really no recipe uh very specific for all us. It's about throwing the kitchen sink at all of it about getting as many different therapist as we can and understanding that it's that feeding in the food part of it is just one small step we you know, we could do recipes all day long here on the show. I could probably give you a you know, a thousand different variations on on beef or on chicken or turkey or any of the other protein sources. However, that's not what this is about. We want you to have a clear understanding that in nature, there is no recipes.

5:28 In nature, there is no cooking of food. In nature, there is what you kill or what you find, no selection like you know, walking through the aisles of a supermarket. That doesn't exist in nature. It's unfortunately, survival of the fittest. But each animal, each piece of animal, is equipped with its own ability ease its own place in the pecking mortar and food order, if you will. And this is very very important. Now I've recently finished a article talking about the marketing and processing of pet foods and what all has involved, everything from the sources of ingredients to the physical manufacture process and the labeling laws, and how this is all effect in the way we look at things. Here is just a couple of the things I found.

6:46 When you look at packaging. For instance, truth and advertising laws say that whatever's on the outside of the package should be represented on the inside. Now I know that I've seen these colorful bags of pet foods, both dog and cat, usually with all kinds of food components on them, everything from nice steaks and chops, and you know, whole chickens and fish, usually some fresh you know, many of them, some fresh vegetables, maybe some grains as a sidebar on the picture. But when you open that bag, do you see that whole chicken? Do you see even a partial chicken?

7:30 Do you see a partial steak? Do you see any meat at all? Or do you see little tiny shaped pieces that all have the same uniform In most cases brown and or tan color looks like sawdust kind of glued together, which is really what it is. When you figure that the extrusion process that makes this is five hours at four hundred and fifty degrees in their high pressure, and then it goes through another baking process to dry it out for up to twelve hours. Now, what could you possibly have left of that chicken, that whole chicken, or that whole steak if you cooked it for that law and you know so obviously we don't have very much nutrition left on it.

8:28 It doesn't resemble what is on the package itself. It's kind of a mystery because you have no idea if the meat sources even chicken, if it is what it's sourced from, Is it, you know, dead chickens in the headhouse that are called out, Is it rejects out of the processing plant. Surely you don't believe that they're using good whole cuts of real chicken for the most part, when they sell it for less than once you can buy a chicken for the grocery store, it just doesn't make sense. Of course, we have the same problem with the canned foods. Again. You end up instead of with a dry slurry you get with kibble, you end up with basically a wet slurry. And of course one of the things that most people don't realize is that canned food is primarily the same quality as the dry food, except with extra moisture added to it, and they might add some real meat components to it to give it extra flavor, which they can't do with the dry food. So once again we get a problem with the labeling law. We see a representation on the package that is not in the can, of course in the format. That's the other one that actually drives me

10:01 crazy is basically the freeze dried category, which they have actually renamed pretty much in marketing terms raw freeze dried, and what they're telling you is actually that this is a component of the comparison product to a raw diet. Nothing can be any further from the truth. In no way your shape or form is this real food. May started at it, but of course the freeze drying process basically freezer burns of food takes all the moisture out of it, and unbeknownst to you, in many cases, this so called freeze dried food after the freeze driving process goes in a regular oven for up to twelve hours to dry it out. Well, with the exception of the freeze dried step, basically this is nothing more than another form of kibble. We've destroyed a lot of the vitamins in the minerals, enzymes in the process, and especially with the cooking process part of it. At the end of the day, you end up with a nutritionally inferior product because up to a third of the nutrients are destroyed by the freeze drying processes itself, and you were sold on the

11:37 belief that it has raw meat in it. Well, when we look at kibble, when we look at the canned foods, when we look at freeze dried, and even dehydrated foods. All of these started out as raw food. They're all highly processed us most of which have been highly processed with heat which destroys all the enzymes. Because of this, we have to add in synthetic chemicals, different vitamin mixes and mineral mixes. They add in probiotics and prebiotics. If it's raw, you shouldn't have to do that. It should already be in it, and again doesn't match what the label says. Although I for the most part, on the freeze Ride we don't get the exaggeration of all the whole cuts of meat like we do with a lot of the kibble that's on the market. Now, with this being said, and this being a major portion of it, I want you to stop and think every time you open up one of these packages, whether you open up the freeze ride package, open up they can open up that bag of kibble. The one thing that's going to stand out in your mind overall when I explain this

13:11 to you is all this food is brown in color. It's all cooked out to one color, basically burned food. It's brown food. And I don't know if you've heard it especially on a lot of these newer supplement companies on the market, they talk about brown food being dead food, no living organisms, no enzymes, no living component to this food to actually aid in both digestion and in the absorption of new trips. It is dead food, no matter what's on the picture. It is one of the poorest forms of nutrition that you could ever buy. And you spend a Fortunately, I know, some of the prescription diets and some of the specialty diets, you know, thirty forty pounds bag and goes high as one hundred dollars or more. Freeze driede again premium price based on the processing that they have to use. The equipment is very expensive, and again you are being overcharged for an inferior product.

14:37 Now, in many cases, the content, the food quality in some of the freeze dried foods is a higher quality than that that you would find in for instance, in most kibble products. Most kibble products use a meat meal, if you will, which we have no idea what's in that. There's no disclosure at all. That doesn't have to be what kind of preserves of it as in it, And it makes it very very difficult. Now, even on the freeze dride. For instance, if you say it contains beef, what is the grade of that beef? You know, I'm sure that they don't use prime or even choice. We'd be lucky if we could get a few of them up to the select category, which makes it very very low quality meat that again is going to be lower nutrients. And of course we don't know how that how that food was raised. Was it raised on GMO corn and soy? Did did the cattle have the m r n A vaccine? Did the flock gets get treated with antibiotics or hormones? These are very very important questions because they actually contribute greatly to the health of your

16:17 animals. Again, I invite any kind of questions that sort of thing in our chat. I would love to hear from you out there. We are trying to make this all available so that you can make that honest choice. I hear so much about, you know, customers spending all kinds of time trying to research different foods, and you know, I used to get the question, you know, what's the best dry food for my animal? I can't afford raw I can't afford cooked foods. There's no such thing because the process as I just illustrated, basically takes away any advantage of using any better quality ingredients other than from a marketing standpoint, because the quality when it's all processed, when it's all said and done, you're just going to have a pretty pretty poor quality food. Now. I didn't touch it all in this first segment on home cooked or cooked or raw diets. I wanted to save that till after the break because I want to go into some very very important things of that. But one of the things, as we're leading up to the break here about two minutes away, that I'm sure you'll all agree on, is that it's not exclusive, but on a lot of the especially raw products, you know that it's raw meat. You open up that package,

17:48 you can see the constituents see of that product. It is raw meat and might have a lot of other garbage mixed in with it, but you're still looking at a meat based process. A lot of the cooked foods look like stews. Again you're seeing a real product, but again you're going to have to question what's the quality of this. And of course, if you start looking at cost of the food itself and compared to what you're paying in the supermarket. You know that they cannot make a diet, ship it around the country with no shipping charges, make a profit and be below the cost of the meat that you buy in the supermarket. I mean that kind of thinking, and believe you have to do your own homework. It's very very important to understand that, just like with you and I, the quality of the food is equally, if not more important in regard to keeping and maintaining a healthy path. It's paramount to it. You know, again, I'm going to get into some of this in more detail in the very next segment,

19:21 but you know, some of these raw diets do have pictures of the different meats that they put into it, and as I said, at least with these raw diets, with these raw meat diets, you can identify that it's actually meat and if it's got vegetable matter and it sometimes you can tell that as well, especially on some of the cook foods that are more stew like or meat loafs like things of that nature. 22:59 us getting message out Therefore, I don't have to keep doing individual expensive consults when we can just get the word out there to our fellow pet owners. Now, I was talking a little bit about raw diets and cook diets and how it are differentiated from the kibble and the freeze dried and the canned foods. First off, like I said, generally speaking, when you open up that container, you can see that it's real food. That is very very important. Now, if it says on a human grade right now, that's a controversial term. The Department of Agriculture and a lot of states doesn't want us to use that term anymore because according to the law, if it is fed to an animal, it is no longer human grade food. It is considered to be animal feed, which I find really really strange would change the wording of the law that way. But it's one of those things that we've had to learn to live with it. Within the food industry. I know our sponsored biocomplete natural diets and of course my paleopat have provided a challenging fight with the State of Florida, among others in the way they have classified it because it really makes no sense. But they unfortunately there's so many claims out

24:37 there, they go after the little guy and not the big guys. As we know, in most things, human grade could mean a lot of different things, just as well as you know us DA certified plant, that doesn't mean that it's approved for human consumption. It could be all the rejected food. You know, things like cancer cells and bruised meat, you know, blood soak meat, things of this name nature that really you wouldn't want to eat yourself. The same is true with, of course, when we would then get into the meat and meals that we find in most kibble where they can be rendered down, animals that have died from anything but slaughter, which means they could be road killed. It could be animals that are euthanized at the rets office and then picked up by a renderer, livestock that's been dead in the field for several days. These all go into rendered product, and of course they get at the rendering plants, they sit out in the hot sun, they start to break down. They're actually starting to rot they've been treated with all kinds of chemicals preservatives in order to keep them from breaking down.

25:56 So we need to keep this in my Obviously, if you can find local sources where you can actually see where it's being made or know the people that are actually making that, that would obviously be a much better source. We've been doing food for almost twenty years at Biocomplete, and it basically is a premium quality product. Unlike other manufacturers, Biocomplete does use USDA certified Fit for Human Consumption meats, usually grade wise Choice or Better, which would be like you know, your top end supermarkets would use, not like the standard supermarkets which use usually USDA Select or Lower. And this is all a part of you basically taking charge of what your pet is getting nutritionally and keeping

I've had several horrendous cases over the last couple of weeks where unfortunately that industry doesn't really have a clue as to what's needed to build and maintain a healthy animal. It's got to be species appropriate, because that's how their dogesitsub track works. If you're not following a species specific diet, it's going to be taxing and challenging on the animal. I know, again, a lot of these so called celebrity veterinarians. They all have their own private label foods and their own vitamins that they recommend and things of that nature. But again they're only taking the next half step and providing something better than standard allopathic excuse me, medicine takes. And while your pet may show positive responses, it's still far from optimal. I actually had a chance to meet with some of all of these veterinarians several weeks ago. Like I said, I did a lot of your leg work. I did the comparisons on the foods, I did the comparisons on what they were recommending, and unfortunately, because of the rules of the veterinary industry, they have to limit what they say, and again, their area of expertise is very limited. I

29:03 mean, some of them have done a good job of trying to learn and study, but you have to realize that myself especially, I've been independ industry for over fifty five years. I've been concentrated heavily on nutrition for at least twenty five years of that. So and as a narrow it's a narrow focus that I've done. You know, I don't care about doing surgery. I don't care about administering drugs or prescribing drugs. I want to make I want to optimize your pets health by maximizing and perfecting what your pet needs as far as nutrition. And one of the other things about that is all about variety and all about rotation, and that's how we actually balance about it. There's no such thing as complete and balanced in nature. The body is always dynamic, it's always moving, so therefore we have to be consistent with that.

30:00 Now, there's a couple other areas that I was researching this morning that I found rather interesting because we don't think as many many other things on the backside of it, and This is primarily and I talk about it quite a bit, of course, on chemical exposures, from you know, cleaning products to chemtrails, to you know, different so called preventive drugs that we give our animals, you know, for heartworm and for fleas and parasites, the synthetic vitamins that are in commercial foods. But there's a whole other area that I was investigating that I found very very interesting as far as chemical exposure. Because I usually bring up the big ones, but one of the this one was done on different studies and humans at the time, but I also carried it over out of the pet side. Different chemical compounds such as para bends, which are synthetic preservatives that we find in everything from you know, in our own product shampoos and conditioners and skin creams and lip lip bombs and all these different things. These are known car synogens or at least contributing factors to cancer.

31:21 You know, think about the dog shampoo that you use or the sav that you're putting on that that hotspot. H chances are that that contains para bends. The it's it, you know, even in of course in different drugs in it. But what are the interesting statistics that I found in this particularly in these particular studies that I was looking at, is that in humans that when they do biopsies and of course the chemical components behind that, that in breast cancer and humans, that almost ninety percent of the tumors contain amounts of pair been this preservative. So we know it's traveling throughout the body.

32:14 We know that it's harmful. We know that. Like I say, it's everything from shampoos to conditioners, you know, different skin creams, you know. And it was interesting because the one of the statistics I saw is that the average woman in any given day, with between all the creams and conditioners and foundations and lists, lip blosses and deodorants and soap that they use in the shower, in shampoos and conditioners, that the average woman may be exposed to as many as sixty four individual chemicals every single day of They're like, and yet I get people coming in, I e. Clean, I try to watch everything that I use, and I still got cancer. What's wrong with me? Well, sixty four different chemicals, a lot of which we don't even think about. Pair bens. Something we don't see or think about these are all around us, and they're all around our pet as well.

33:23 Well you can know, you know, you can make the case of well, you know, I don't use any of these cosmetic products on my pet, But what happens when your dogs or your cat jumps up in your lap and starts rubbing all over you and you're wearing these products? Are they exposure them too? I would think so, And yeah, she might say, well, yeah, it's just a little bit. But if it's a little bit every day, multiply that by the times the number of days in a year, and then multiply that also by the number of times that your animal does jump up in your lap and cuddle and kiss and lick you. That could be a sizeable amount of contamination. And it's you know, again, it's one of those things that we never think of. It's going to interact.

34:21 You have to remember, these are all going to interact with the food and with the gut and the gut health. So it's going to make a difference in digestion absorption, utilization, and if it's causing different health challenges on top of that, it's just all the harder that the body will have to work coming up again on the break again. And you know it's it's really created havoc on our poor paths, especially since it's passed down from generation to generation. You know, we don't think of how many chemicals mom or grandmom or great grandmom have been exposed to because in many cases we don't know, Especially if we have a rescue animal, you'll never know that information, will never even know what all the interventions have been on the pet a you have just adopted. Now, a couple other areas that I wanted to bring into this whole foray here is

37:32 that herbs and botanicals, veterinarians healthcare for professionals that are not on the naturopathic bandwagon. Basically in the FDA claim that food cannot sure anything herbs and botanicals are foods. But yet we know that in nature there is no medicine cabinet except for the herbs and botanical and what's provided in nature. Our wolves live in the wild an average lifespan of over twenty years, sometimes exceeding thirty years of age. Feeling cats, of course, well over thirty years in many many cases, they you know, they're not shopping at the favorite vetamin shop for their vitamins or the supermarket. They don't have microwaves, they don't have stovetops or you know, any other cooking utensils. I just saw an interesting thing, of course, as we know that they've did, you know, with when it comes to raw dairy, they're trying to outlaw it again and again and again that the FDA talks basically through both sides of their mouth, telling us, you know that we cannot raise milk dairy products in a clean, sanitary fashion. But yet when you talk to raw milk farmers, they

39:07 raise a product that is designed to and by actual planning and inflammation, is going to be clean enough that the body is going to accept it. Whereas the producers of standard milk that gets pasteurized and homogenized and broken down into components. Sanitation is not nearly as important to them because the process is designed to eliminate the pathogens, not the process, not keeping a good clean farm. And it's interesting because, like I say, they talk to both sides of their milk because they condemn raw milk that comes from livestock. You know, cows, goats, buffalo, horses, sheep, camels, basically any mammal.

40:00 But yet at the same time they're talking about that the most nutritious food for our own babies is mother's breast milk. If you stop and think about that, that delivery system is not sterilized, that milk is not pasteurized, is not treated in any way. Basically, it carries the components of what mom put into her body. So they're saying that this is ideal, but the same thing in the livestock area is to be condemned and shut down. Makes no sense. Who's looking out for us, who's looking out for your pets? You have to really wonder one other thing that I wanted to bring bring out, as far as all these different chemicals and these different qualities of food, that's very, very important. The quality and the varieties are very, very important. Is that so much of what we have going on is the intermixing of what we call all these cocktails of chemicals. You know, if the food that they're mixing and creating with you for your pet uh contains different chemicals there is in different preservatives for instance, different vitamin mixes and you know, nutritional components. There is no testing to see how they interact with each other. Vaccines, you know, they combine three, four, five different vaccines and one you know, okay, it's easier on the animal,

41:31 is it really You're getting downloaded or downloading and dumping in five different pathogens into that body in an unnatural way for the body to fight. It's going to fight five battles. I don't know about you. I don't know. I don't want to fight even one battle, let alone five at the same time. That's why we see our animals crashing and having at difficult times after some of these procedures. Stop and think about that poor kitten or puppy going through the rescue. And I know that we've talked with my colleague doctor Michael dimm on this show many many times about what actually happens they come into the shelter.

42:14 First off, they're abandoned. They're taken away from their family. Their family gave them up because they can't afford the vet bill anymore. Their diet is totally changed, their environment is totally changed, so they are totally stressed. We then turn around and in the first twenty four to forty eight hours, okay, if they are unnutered or intact females, we put them under the knife. If you will, we do surgery, spay and neuters immediately. So you've got all the anesthesia drugs and the pre anesthesia drugs and the postop drugs, painkillers, all of that. They are all now being added into the body, antibiotics sometimes was anti inflammatories on top of it. And this is in the first seventy two hours. What an assault on this body.

43:09 I marveled that these animals are still alive. I really do. It shows the adaptability of these animals to survive. But my job is not to open the doors to survival. I want to open the doors to thriving. And that's very, very important with our pets. We want them to live the happiest life. Last week, we were talking a little bit about human life and longevity, and you know, if you've got an animal that is not in optimal health and basically you're keeping them moving around by steroid shots because their joints are going, or because their hips are going, they've got muscle atrophy, they just are lethargic, you know, maybe carrying. And I've seen this literally dozens and dozens and dozens of tumors all over the body.

44:10 This is not normal, nor is it optimal. And to keep these animals alive, I can. I get it. I mean, you don't want to get rid of your friend, but why did it get Why did we allow it to happen in the first place. This is all controllable, and it's controllable by us the pet owner. I mean, there are people out there with myself, and there are some good veterinarians that really really care, and that care enough to do the research to look into what the real causes are. You know, I've dealt with literally dozens and dozens, if not hundreds of veterinarians over the years. And when it comes to things like parasite control, Okay, there's herbal products out there, the different herbs and botanicals that actually control this stuff and cure it. Without poisons, without adding toxicity to body. The herbs and botanicals are only in the body for twenty four to forty eight hours and then they're gone. They never accumulate, but they won't even look at the literature. Their clients beg them to do this.

45:25 I guess their clients mean so little to them that they're unwilling to do the research. So and basically, in conclusion to this, I mean, there's a lot that we can do. We have to start asking the questions. We need to start pushing that envelope. If I see a package of food and it's nice and bright colors and I'm reading the label to try to figure out if it's healthy or not, you need to know for sure, and you need to know how each one of those components is important and is in the most natural form.
